| 3 Cheers Celebration - Matthews Opera House Location: Matthews Opera House The Spearfish Foundation for Public Education's "3 Cheers Celebration!" will be Thursday, February 2 from 5:30-7:30pm. Local artist, Sarah Rogers has created a school related theme painting entitled "Mary Had a Little Lamb," sold exclusively by the SFPE and the Spearfish Arts Center. The original and the framed artist's print will be auctioned at the 3 Cheers Celebration. A limited number of top-quality, numbered giclee prints will be available for purchase, however; pre-sales are available by calling the SAC at 605-642-7973. The cost per print is $150. All proceeds will be shared equally between the SFPE and the SAC to fun artistic, musical and dramatic opportunities for our students in the schools. Exit the King is set in the crumbling throne-room of the palace in an unnamed country where King Berenger the First has only the duration of the play to live. Once, it seemed he ruled over an immense empire and commanded great armies, now his kingdom has shrunk to the confines of his garden wall. Refusing to accept his end, he is attended by his present and former queens who must help him face the final inevitable truth of life: death. | Theatre Production: Exit the King Location: Woodburn Hall, BHSU Join us Feb. 24 at 7:30 pm for the BHSU Theatre's opening performance of Exit the King by Eugene Ionesco. Exit the King is set in the crumbling throne-room of the palace in an unnamed country where King Berenger the First has only the duration of the play to live. Once, it seemed he ruled over an immense empire and commanded great armies, now his kingdom has shrunk to the confines of his garden wall. Refusing to accept his end, he is attended by his present and former queens who must help him face the final inevitable truth of life: death.
